Two great tastes that taste great together is what I would say about William Shakespeare’s Star Wars if it was a peanut butter cup. But it’s not. It’s two good tastes that are kinda funny together but not for more than five minutes.

Instead, Ian Doescher takes this funny idea and stretches it out further than a dollar can be stretched on read-weep.com/amazon (or the logic of this joke can be stretched for us to make buck). He retells THE ENTIRETY of A New Hope in iambic pentameter with lots of hidden references along the way to great works from the Bard. It’s fine. It really is. It’s just too much.

We send this episode (and our best wishes for a speedy recovery) to our friends Zach and Ashley Adair who were struck by a car a couple months back. If you’d like to donate to their medical bills, you can here: www.gofundme.com/adairsrecovery Thanks! Get well you guys!

Because I’m a terrible terrible Star Wars nerd, more intimately familiar with the Expanded Universe than with the inside of a college classroom (truth), I can tell you this-Several questions were raised regarding Star Wars, all of which I had answers to IMMEDIATELY. Could a Hutt fly an X-Wing? No. But A Gamorrean can. Yeah, those pig guard guys from Jabba’s palace? One flies an X-Wing in the Wraith Squadron series of books by Aaron Allston. (http://starwars.wikia.com/w…Hutts, by the way, come from a planet called Nal Hutta (http://starwars.wikia.com/w…, and there HAS been such a thing as a skinny Hutt. Generally, they’re pretty small in their youth, and grow larger and larger, and the larger they get, the more respected they are. Unless your name is Korrda (and yes, I had to spend about ten minutes looking through the Wiki to find that information), and you have a wasting disease. Then you’re just a skinny little Hutt that gets mocked by all the other Hutts, and you have to serve them endlessly.-Tycho Alhambra

And Nal Hutta was actually slowly purchased from its original inhabitants (who the Hutts then evicted) after the original Hutt homeworld had to be abandoned after being too polluted. Can we consult on future Star Wars episodes?

[a] I’m not entirely comfortable with all this expanded universe stuff. If it wasn’t in 4- 6 or the Christmas Special, it’s not real to me.[b] Yes, I can promise you we will consult you. Although we may have an extended break before we do anything else Star Wars.
