RiaW #110: Heaven is for Real Reviewed

MP3

Kids are so adorable.  They ask questions we aren’t brave enough to and they can’t tell the difference between dreams and reality.  Small town pastors are so adorable.  They comfort people in their community and can’t tell the difference between their kids’ dreams and reality.  And they write books about it.

When he was only 3-years-old, Colton Burpo had emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix.  While under general anesthesia, he had a dream he went to heaven and Jesus won’t let him have a sword and there were multi-colored unicorns.  His dad believed it was real and, with help from the ghost writer of Going Rogue, writes a boring book about it.

We interview pediatric emergency specialist Dr. Brian about these events and, because we’re children ourselves, poop and wangoplasty.  And lastly, Jesus looks a lot like Kenny Loggins.

Kenny Loggins?Jesus?

I can’t tell you how extremely pleased I was to hear you all talk about this book. It’s a hit in my town because it’s close to home. The Burpos (to apostrophe or not. that is the question) live only about an hour away. They are constantly talking at one of the churches here in town. And to top it off everyone is head over heals with this book. Me, I call bullshit. But then I may be the only agnostic (alright atheist) living in area. Totally laughed my ass off the entire episode.

There’s something strange going on with me; both for this episode and the Glee one (and a few past ones, I tried Highlander II randomly and it had the same issue although I managed to listen to it at the time) when I click on the episode link (and the URL seems fine) I get the comment box; no access to the episodes themselves or anything else. What gives ?
(One reason I’m posting this is in the hope that actually posting a comment will change something. I doubt I’d even be able to read any responses, but if it’s fixable by someone in charge…)

Email me (podcasts@read-weep.com) and let me know what browser you’re using. I’ll see if it’s something I can fix.

Heya, it’s fine now ! I’ll assume someone did something because otherwise it would just be random, so thanks ! I really wanted to listen to this one 🙂
    Love your podcast btw ^^
